Ben Hawkins grew up in the East Bay of northern California and attended San Ramon Valley high school. At a young age Ben began tutoring family friends in geometry and algebra 2 as an after school job. Post graduation he moved to Colorado to attend CU Boulder. After developing a deep passion for economics in his high school Econ course, he chose to major in economics with a minor in philosophy at CU Boulder. During his junior year he began working within the department of economics as an undergraduate tutor where he focused on teaching his peers calculus, statistics, and economics. Through the COVID-19 pandemic, Ben continued this work online, tutoring through zoom while spending most of his free time over-landing through the Rocky Mountains in his beloved Subaru.
