Summer Creative Writing Workshop

- Use the summer to experiment with your creative writing abilities
This summer, Mindfish is offering a creative writing workshop for high school students. This workshop will give students an introduction to a variety of prose and poetic forms with the goal of helping them discover and develop their own voices as creative writers. Students will read and discuss short stories, poems, plays and examples of creative nonfiction and will complete a variety of writing assignments designed to expand their own creative “arsenal”. This workshop is intended for students who enjoy reading and writing fiction, poetry or other creative genres.
An exploration of creative writing is an edifying pursuit of its own, and will also help students learn to express themselves in ways that will benefit their college application essays and future writing assignments in high school and beyond.
Our Creative Writing Workshop meets on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This workshop is taught by Helen Terndrup, a former English lecturer at Brooklyn College who holds an MFA in Creative Writing.
