Johanna McCombs grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and earned a degree in Applied Mathematics and Anthropology from Arizona State University. While at ASU, she participated in several research labs focusing on public health, physics, and ecology. Additionally, she worked as a mathematics tutor for the athletic department, providing one-on-one support for students. She continued her education at the University of Colorado, where she earned her Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics in December 2024. During this time, she taught a variety of math and computer science courses for the engineering department. In her free time, she enjoys painting, hiking with her two dogs, knitting, and is currently teaching herself to play the piano.
