Sophia Matuszewicz has been supporting Mindfish students since 2017, as both a test prep tutor and a college admissions counselor. She grew up in Denver and graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in French and Francophone studies. An avid traveler, she has been a resident of Cameroon, France, and, most recently, New York City, where she completed her master’s degree in media studies at Queens College, CUNY in 2021. She is a passionate student of language, literature, and communication, and especially loves helping her students engage with the written word. In addition to her years of experience with at Mindfish, Sophia has worked in graduate admissions at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she loved supporting students in navigating the leap to graduate school. Following her time on the college side of the admissions desk, Sophia has been dedicated to supporting the college aspirations of Mindfish students as a member our college counseling team. She believes that the college admissions process is an inspiring and personal journey for each student and delights in helping students tell their story and write the next chapter of their academic lives.
In addition to her work as a Mindfish tutor and college counselor, Sophia is a dedicated member of the Mindfish admin team and, in that role, sets up and manages tutoring programs, dialogues with clients and tutors throughout the process, and works to ensure the success of our all of our students. In her free time, Sophia enjoys immersing herself in pop culture, handcrafts, and exploring food and culture in New York.
