Certified Executive Function Coach & Disability Advocate

Stacey Acquavella is an attorney, educator, IEP advocate, and executive function coach with over 20 years of experience helping students and families navigate the complexities of learning and education. Before teaming up with MindFish, Stacey worked as an education attorney, guiding families through the intricacies of special education law and ensuring students received the IEP protections, accommodations, and support they need to thrive. She has attended countless IEP meetings, collaborated with school teams, and helped parents become confident advocates for their children’s learning journeys. As both an educator and a coach, Stacey specializes in executive function and cognitive control, working with neurodivergent students—particularly those with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences—who often feel misunderstood in traditional academic settings. She knows that executive function challenges go beyond organization; they affect focus, motivation, emotional regulation, and even confidence. Stacey helps students build skills in problem-solving, flexible thinking, self-advocacy, and managing big emotions—all in a way that feels personal and empowering, rather than overwhelming. Her approach is warm, practical, and deeply individualized, ensuring that every student gains strategies that actually work for their brain.

More than anything, Stacey understands the ups and downs of neurodivergent learning because she lives it every day. As a mom of three neurodiverse kids, she’s in the trenches, balancing IEP meetings, school emails, and late-night homework sessions—all while navigating the chaos of soccer practices and volleyball games. She knows what it’s like to watch a bright, capable kid struggle with things that seem easy for others, and she brings that same deep empathy and real-world understanding to her work with students and families.
