Johns Hopkins University Grad with BS in Mechanical Engineering

Max Muss holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and brings several years of experience in engineering, design, manufacturing, and project management. His background in engineering has shaped a clear, structured approach to teaching complex material, with an emphasis on problem solving, logical thinking, and real-world application.

In addition to tutoring, Max has hands-on classroom experience teaching and supporting students in formal school settings. He has served as a substitute teacher with Boulder Valley School District and Shining Mountain Waldorf School, and he teaches high school engineering and science courses part time in Denver. These roles have strengthened his ability to adapt lessons to different learning styles, manage classrooms effectively, and support students across a wide range of academic levels. Max also brings years of experience working with children and teens as a tutor, youth director, swim instructor, and summer camp counselor. He understands how to support students not only academically, but also with confidence, motivation, and study skills.

Max loves learning and strives to foster that same curiosity and creativity in his students by making academic material engaging, approachable, and relevant. Outside of tutoring, Max enjoys film, hiking, travel, reading, and snowboarding.
