A National Merit Scholar, Helen Terndrup graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College in Minnesota with a major in comparative religious studies and a number of academic honors. After college, she moved to New York City and worked for the City of New York before starting graduate school at CUNY Brooklyn College, where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing. She taught literature, creative writing, and composition at Brooklyn College Academy, Brooklyn College, and New York City College of Technology for several years before moving to Denver and beginning her work with Mindfish. In 2017, she moved to Boise and opened Mindfish’s Boise office. While her deepest background is in language arts, Helen also loves teaching math to students at all levels of ability, experience, and interest. She’s helped hundreds of students achieve their goals on the SAT and the ACT and has also coached students on their college admissions essays for over a decade. In her free time, she loves reading (and writing) mystery novels and exploring the beautiful outdoors of the Treasure Valley with her husband and two children.
