To summarize all of this information on the deadlines, the SAT is administered every 4 to 6 weeks during the school year. The deadline to register for each administration of the test is 4 weeks before the test deadline.
To register for the SAT, students must create a profile at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register. Students need to upload a profile picture of themselves and spend 20 – 30 minutes providing information about their academic and personal backgrounds.
*If you miss the registration deadline for an upcoming SAT, you can still sign up for the test before the late registration deadline; you’ll just have to pay an extra $28 fee for registering late.*
Did you miss the regular and late registration date? Fear not! You can still register for the waitlist (also known as standby) for a $46 fee. Students pay the $46 fee with the hope of being assigned an extra seat and test booklet on test day. All information on the SAT’s standby policy can be found here on the College Board SAT Waitlist Page. Our friends over at Study Points also have a great blog post about taking the SAT on a Standby basis. Check it out: https://studypoint.com/ed/sat-waitlist-testing/
