Andreia Ribeiro has a strong interdisciplinary background spanning STEM, education, and the cognitive sciences. She earned bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Astrophysics & Planetary Sciences with a minor in Space from the University of Colorado Boulder, followed by a master’s degree in Education with a focus on curriculum and instruction in Math and Science. After graduating, Andreia worked on NASA’s MAVEN mission, conducting research on plasma boundaries in the atmosphere of Mars and later as a modeling and simulation engineer for re-entry vehicles. Andreia believes in a holistic approach to teaching that emphasizes strategy, confidence, and self-awareness alongside content mastery. She places particular focus on executive function skills such as planning, time management, task initiation, and self-monitoring, helping students develop systems they can use independently both in and beyond standardized testing. Her experience includes supporting students who are building foundational skills, high-achieving students aiming for top scores, and students navigating anxiety, attention challenges, or organizational difficulties. In addition to her work in test preparation, Andreia is deeply interested in the neuroscience and cognitive science of learning, memory, and motivation. She continues to study how storytelling, attention, and emotional engagement influence understanding and performance, and she enjoys translating those insights into practical strategies that help students learn more effectively. She is also an active creative writer and is passionate about helping students find meaning and confidence in their academic journeys. When she’s not tutoring, Andreia enjoys reading and writing, playing piano and guitar, long-distance running, and traveling. She loves exploring new places and perspectives and believes that curiosity and creativity are essential to both learning and personal growth.
