Danny Hunter grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and fulfilled a lifelong dream of graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Meteorology and Mathematics. He has continued his love for weather after college by documenting severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, and has also discovered a gift and passion for teaching, particularly with math and science. He has always loved math. Ever since he can remember, he couldn’t help but ‘think’ in numbers and process the world in math. Danny has experience in several areas of education, including as a math tutor, middle school and high school teacher, chess coach and basketball coach. He engages students by meeting them where they’re at and positively encourages them to critically think through subject matter for maximal learning. Beyond meteorology and education, Danny participates in local government and volunteer groups that advocate for more walkable cities and increased sustainability. He hopes that he can do whatever is in his power to prepare the world for the climate crisis. When he’s not trying to save the world, you can often find him passionately watching Nuggets basketball or West Ham United F.C., playing sports such as basketball and soccer, or engaging in creative hobbies like piano, reading, and video-making.
