Fulbright Research Fellow, Stanford Graduate

Ellie Fajer grew up in Littleton, Colorado and graduated with an MS and BS in Biology and Earth Systems and a minor in Music from Stanford University in 2024. During her time there, she discovered her passion for research (with a focus on fungal ecology and global change) and science education. She helped pioneer a class on sustainable food systems, led environmental science courses, and served as a teaching assistant across diverse subjects, most enjoying getting to work with students 1:1. Ellie recently completed a Fulbright Research Fellowship in Aotearoa New Zealand and plans to pursue a PhD in Biology. She is passionate about teaching test prep and other high school subjects because she recognizes the enormous impact early academic successes can have on a student’s college and career journeys — especially after appreciating the impact her mother and fellow tutor, Susan Bassow, has had on countless students’ lives! In her free time, she enjoys playing trumpet, hiking/running/biking/any excuse to get outdoors, and baking vegan treats.
