College Admissions Counseling

Experienced College Admissions Counselor & Student Advocate

Jason Brookes holds a M.S. in Education with a concentration on School Counseling from Long Island University and he also holds a B.A. from SUNY Oswego in broadcast communications. Jason grew up in New York City (The Bronx) and his dream was to be a play-by-play announcer for the New York Knicks or New York Yankees. While that career path ultimately wasn’t meant to be, it led him to discover another passion: working with young people and helping them reach their goals!

Jason has spent the past 18 years as a school counselor, supporting thousands of students on their paths to success. Over the last decade, he has developed a particular passion for helping students navigate the college and career planning process, guiding families through important decisions about life after high school.

He currently lives in Chicago with his wife, Sharon, and their twins, Miles and Maxine. A lifelong sports fan, Jason closely follows the Green Bay Packers, Newcastle United (soccer), and the New York Yankees — though after eight years in Chicago, he has also developed an appreciation for both the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox. In addition to his work in education, Jason hosted a professional wrestling podcast for ten years called the Worked Shoot Wrestling Podcast.
