Matt Madsen has coached hundreds of students in a wide variety of academic subjects for more than a decade. He began tutoring student-athletes in chemistry, biology, and physiology courses after finishing his BS in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon. Matt served as a teaching assistant in both large lecture and small laboratory classes while completing his Master’s degree in Integrative Physiology at CU Boulder. He began working with students on the SAT and ACT after finishing graduate school and has amassed expertise with the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, HSPT, GMAT, and GRE. He also tutors students in math (anything from algebra to AP Calculus), AP Chemistry, AP Biology, anatomy, and physiology.
Matt was diagnosed with ADHD at age 24, near the end of his second year of graduate school. While he was always a bright student who compensated fairly well on his own, he wholeheartedly recognizes that access to resources for students with learning differences and executive functioning weaknesses might have propelled him to even further success. With this in mind, Matt has dedicated part of his Mindfish career to helping students identify their own learning patterns and adapting educational environments and strategies to maximize their potential. He looks forward to helping students succeed academically and plan for post-secondary achievement. When he isn’t teaching, Matt can probably be found outdoors. He loves golf, hiking, mountain biking, camping, and exploring new areas of Colorado.
