Megan Hughes was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. She grew up exploring arts, sciences, performance, and writing. Raised by a K-12 ELL and Special Ed teacher, in a family of educators, she has a deep love for learning. She apprenticed with a K-12 teacher in high school, with an emphasis on reading and writing education. She tutored while attending CU Boulder where she received a B.A. in History and Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. There she won a grant and fulfilled a research fellowship with her university by publishing a summa cum laude awarded thesis. Since graduation, she has developed her tutoring and classroom teaching experience through private tutoring as well as substitute teaching. She tailors her teaching to students’ specific learning styles and needs and has developed remote learning strategies. By applying these strategies to her independent research, she is growing an online education platform for African and Global history. Most of all, as a mother of twins she loves exploring and learning the world through little eyes again.
