Peter Giebel

Peter Giebel holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Denver and a Master of Fine Arts in Literary Arts from Brown University, where he was both a fellow and instructor. Over the past decade, he has worked extensively as a tutor, supporting students across all ability levels in executive function coaching, study skills development, standardized test preparation (including the ACT, SAT, and AP exams), and a wide range of academic subjects. In his executive function and study skills work, Peter helps students develop practical, individualized approaches to managing their academic responsibilities and becoming more effective, independent learners. His coaching draws on students’ actual coursework and routines, helping them build sustainable habits while developing a better understanding of how they learn and how to adapt their approach when challenges arise.

In addition to his tutoring work, Peter has served as a writer and editor for a wide range of test preparation materials, ranging from firefighting and nursing to college entrance and military officer training. Peter is also a published poet and fiction writer. He brings a creative and interdisciplinary perspective to his teaching, informed by his photographic work and his ongoing research and collaboration with a Bay Area AI and digital art studio. His commitment to learning, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving is at the heart of everything he does, both inside and outside the classroom.
