Sarah Boyer grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota and attended Fountain Valley School of Colorado Springs before completing her undergrad at Grinnell College in English. She finished her Master’s of Fine Arts in poetry at UMASS Poets & Writers where she studied and fell in love with documentary poetics. In 2016, she completed her PhD in Creative Writing with a concentration in poetry. After finishing her PhD, she transitioned into teaching English at the high school level for the Denver Waldorf School. After teaching for a year there, She went to become the Denver Waldorf School’s Student Support Specialist spearheading K-12 support services for students with diagnoses such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as attentional and executive function challenges. Her interests include dogs, reading, writing, and hanging out with her six year old daughter, Levy.
