PhD in Neuroscience from University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

Ted Doykos holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He spent more than a decade conducting neuroscience research, studying how the brain processes information and makes decisions. In addition to his research experience, Ted has worked as a private chess tutor, helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence. He enjoys breaking complex concepts into manageable steps and tailoring his teaching approach to each student’s learning style. Ted believes that learning is most effective when students understand not only what to do, but why it works. His goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and develop strategies that support long-term academic success.

Outside of work, Ted enjoys competitive chess, rock climbing, hiking, reading, and exploring new ideas in science, technology, and philosophy. Ted also maintains a regular meditation practice and enjoys spending time outdoors in Colorado. Whether through academics, hobbies, or personal interests, Ted values curiosity, continuous learning, and the opportunity to see problems from new perspectives.
