Tessa Florek graduated with a B.S. from Purdue University, majoring in physics and minoring in astronomy. She is a current M.S. student at Syracuse University studying applied data science. She has a strong research background in astrophysics, studying dark matter and protoclusters, and has presented research at the American Astronomical Society and participated in several research publications. Since graduating from Purdue, she has continued her research journey and has done a lot of soul-searching as to what her future career will be, leading her to the applied data science masters program and a passion for teaching. After her top scores on the SAT and ACT in high school helped fuel her own academic journey, Tessa is excited to help other students find the same success and academic momentum. In her free time, she loves to read, hike, and watch ice hockey.
