Meet Michelle Sirois, Director of mindfish in the Mountains
Michelle is an experienced and effective college prep tutor based in Jackson, Wyoming. She combines her passion for motivating young adults with high academic expectations and an encouraging, supportive teaching style. Her students become enthusiastic learners and more focused on their goal of improving test scores.
Michelle was born in Boston and graduated with honors from Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA. She then went on to study Industrial and Systems Engineering at the prestigious Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California. After being named to the dean’s list for many semesters she graduated with an A average in 2012. Michelle was also a dedicated student-athlete at USC and served as president of the USC Triathlon Team for two years. She devoted more than twenty hours each week to training and earned the privilege of competing in national races. She also served as an ambassador to the USC Alumni Association, connecting students with mentors and job opportunities in the Los Angeles area.
After spending two years working for tech startups as a software developer in Boulder, Colorado Michelle found her true passion as an educator with mindfish. She has successfully worked with students of all levels and has coached many students to 99th percentile scores on both the SAT and ACT.
When she’s not teaching Michelle can probably be found in the mountains. As a New England native, Michelle’s love of the outdoors began with family camping trips in Maine and the White Mountains since before she can be remember. During her 3 years in Boulder she became an avid skier and mountaineer. She is AIARE certified and has spent time as a ski pro at Vail. Her time in Vail gave her a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with difficult schedules and few academic resources in their remote mountain communities.
